세계투데이 - 코로나 2.0?

 

중국 베이징의 일부 연구자들은 코로나19보다 20배 더 치명적인 새로운 돌연변이 코로나바이러스 변종을 개발했다. 유전자 변형 실험 쥐에서 치사율이 100%인 것으로 입증되었다.

쥐는 인간과 동일한 방식으로 바이러스에 반응하는 인간의 유전적 특성을 갖도록 설계되었다. 쥐는 바이러스와 상호작용한 지 8일 만에 사망하는 치명적인 증상을 보였다.

GX-P2V 균주는 2017년 말레이시아 천산갑에서 발견된 GX 바이러스의 돌연변이 버전으로, 인간 집단으로 유출될 우려가 크다.

코로나19의 기원에 대한 대중적인 음모론이 다시 한 번 인기를 끌고 있으며, 인위적으로 변이된 바이러스에 대한 관심이 더욱 높아지고 있다. 전문가들은 이 바이러스가 인간에게 전염되어 또 다른 전염병에 위협이 될 것이라고 우려하고 있다.

만약 이 바이러스가 인간에게 침투한다면 또 다른 전염병이 인류에게 들러붙어 수많은 생명이 희생되고, 막대한 경제적 손실이 발생하며, 코로나로 인해 타격을 입은 산업의 회복 실패를 초래할 것이다.

 

COVID 2.0?

Some researchers in Beijing, China, have developed a new mutant COVID strain, becoming 20 times deadlier than COVID. It has been proven to have a 100% lethal mortality rate on genetically modified tested mice.

The mice were designed with human’s genetic traits that react with the virus the same way as humans. The mice had lethal symptoms of this virus, succumbing 8 days after interacting with the virus. 

The GX-P2V strain is the mutant version of the GX virus discovered in Malaysian Pangolins in 2017. It poses a high concern to leak into the human population. 

Popular conspiracy theories of the origin of COVID are rising in popularity once more, with more attention with artificially mutated viruses. Experts concern this virus to transfer into humans, posing a threat to another pandemic. 

 

If this virus were to seep into humans, another pandemic will stick mankind, causing countless lives to be taken, large sums of economical loss, and failure of recovering industries that were once hurt due to COVID.
